This darn wet spell continues to cause havoc with the National Hunt game as all three meetings were called off today due to unraceable conditions. Tipster Lewis Jones isn’t too keen on all-weather from a money making point of view but one horse has stood out to him today at Kempton and he’s bringing out big each-way stakes for this baby…
It’s not often I trawl through the form on the all-weather, especially on the Polytrack, and find a horse that triggers my need to have a substantial wager, but that day is today.
The rather appropriately named Firmdecisions looks an absolutely belting each-way bet today at 5/1 in the Winners Are Welcome At Betdaq Handicap, where the dead eight runners mean each-way terms pay the first three past the post.
In my eyes this is a horse that should be heading the market, therefore seeing 5/1 chalked up about his chances has tickled my punting taste buds to maximum levels.
Some will gripe with the fact we’re advising an each-way bet on an 11/2 chance, but in my view the very likelihood of the selection hitting the frame is huge.
A £10 EW stake will see a return of £86 if the horse is succesfull and with stakes returned if he finishes in the first three, the punt in question brings plenty of potential. Its bets like these that the bookmakers absolutely hate laying and it’s my job to make them feel as uncomfortable as possible.
Brett Johnson’s four-year-old struck me as a horse to keep on the right side of at Kempton after his impressive all-the-way win on his course debut in December.
The way in which he showed supreme tactical pace along with a potent finishing kick bodes well for his chances of winning more races at Kempton, especially as he’s only been raised 6lbs in the handicap for that easy victory last time out.
The selection has a very unexposed profile and is full of improvement on this surface in a race that lacks a horse with progressive winning nature. Confidence is high, comrades. Get on with a 4pt EW stake.
