Tuesday’s Racing Tip: Nicky Henderson must be followed at Ludlow

Those of you that have been following the tips provided via this column by Lewis Jones must be rolling in the money. His amazing run continued yesterday as Ivan Grozny ran out a determined winner at Fairyhouse to return punters that took Lewis’ advice with an 8/1 beauty. The result means that if you had followed Lewis’ advice to the advised point stake with £10 you’d be sitting here now with £2000 worth of profit. Unbelievable returns. Long may it continue, starting today…

You’ve got to take your hat off to Willie Mullins; he’s a genius. I’m just glad we profited from his shrewd decision to fit Ivan Grozny, a horse that has had severe problems settling in his races, with headgear for yesterday’s Grade Three at Fairyhouse.

As if by magic, the horse ran like a pro and showed the world his true capabilities. I hope those that jumped on the 8/1 had it right off.

That victory has now stormed this column’s profit through the +200 point mark, which is obviously not only great for me personal (as I back everything I recommend using the points structure) but fantastic for the guys that have followed me. I’ll keep working hard to find you winners. No resting on my laurels here.

It’s a strange time of the season really with jump racing still coming at us from every angle and the start of the Flat season bursting into life.

There’s four jumps meetings today and just two flats, which in my opinion far too many for a Tuesday. They complain about prize money yet have six meetings on a standard Tuesday. Something doesn’t add up but that’s a rant for another day.

Having worked my way through the meetings (it’s been a long day) I’ve come out the other side with little to go on, which is disappointing but is the way it goes sometimes.

I’ve only got one small fancy from Ludlow and is purely on the fact that jockey Barry Geraghty, fresh from riding the winner of the Irish Grand National, heads there to ride for his boss Nicky Henderson.

Henderson is working at a 42% strike rate at Ludlow in bumpers and massive respect must be given to Nicolas Chauvin in the Ladies Day On 11th May Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race (5:10).

He’ll be among the market leaders but I’d be surprised if he wasn’t a good thing. Get on with two point win stakes.
