Saturday’s Racing Tips: 6/4 Fox makes plenty of Appeal at Kempton

Another Saturday, another fantastic day of racing.

There coming thick and fast at us now with the Cheltenham Festival just three weeks away with Kempton playing the centrepiece for today’s action. Lewis Jones has delved deep into the card and picks out two tips to attack, both of which are being covered by Channel 4….

They’ll be plenty of Cheltenham clues aplenty across the board today but none so more than at Kempton, where there are three Graded races on the menu.

We’re swerving the Sky Bet Dovecote Novices´ Hurdle as Irving looks hard to beat but is priced accordingly. That leaves the Betbright Chase at 3:50 and the Pendil Novices’ Chase at 2:40 to concentrate on.

Tour Des Champs is a horse who has a big pot in him at one stage in his career and today could be his day in the Betbright Chase. His trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies has recorded major race success in the last two weeks and with a feather weight to carry, the selection could bring up the hat-trick at 7/1.

Three miles is certainly his best trip as he didn’t stay the distance in the Welsh National last time out when he was pulled up. The seven-year-old has some very decent form in the book on soft ground, most notably when finishing third behind Rocky Creek in a novice event last season off levels.

He’s dropped to a mark where he has to be taken seriously considering his talent and under Sam Twiston-Davies, it’s going to take a good one to deny him the pot. Get on with a two point win stake.

Our second selection is the highly progressive Fox Appeal in the Pendil Novices’ Chase. Emma Lavelle’s charge is very much still on our radar for the Arkle Chase despite putting in a sloppy round of jumping behind Valdez last time out at Doncaster.

He’s much better than what he showed there and going back right handed today should help his cause. Balder Sucess heads the betting but Fox Appeal looks very backable at 6/4. Three point win stake is the recommendation.
