Royal Ascot : Saturday Tips, Lucky 15 and Each Way Chances

It’s the final day of Royal Ascot. Boo hoo.

As always it’s been a wonderful five days of punting action with some real top-class animals announcing themselves on the scene.

We have six more races to try and squirm a few more pennies out of the bookmakers.

I’ve found three tips to go to war with.

We start in the 2:30, the Chesham Stakes.

All eyes will be on the very well backed Ballydoyle runner Churchill, who is rumoured to be Aidan O’Brien’s best two-year-old.

However, he’s now become a ridiculous price considering he only finished third on debut. I’d rather take a chance on CUNCO for John Gosden.

This son of Frankel, who has started his breeding career like a true champion, won very readily on debut in a quick time and showed that a step up in trip wouldn’t bother him. The 5/1 is more than fair.

The Hardwicke Stake at 2:40 looks a tasty little race with another favourite trading too short. Exosphere looked a bit of a tool when beating Simple Verse at Newmarket but the form of that race is questionable. I’d rather chance my arm with an improving type and ALMODOVAR apparently is one of the best work horses seen over the Newmarket gallops.

He’s yet to be tested at this level but his latest run at Kempton suggested that big things lie ahead.

The 9/1 looks a cracking each-way play.

The Diamond Jubilee at 4:30 is a wonderful race this year, bringing together plenty of horses with chances.

You can make a case for both Magical Memory and Twilight Son, but everything looks set for THE TIN MAN to announce himself as a Group One winner.

James Fanshawe has taken his time with this improving sprinter and a stiff six furlongs at Ascot should be right up his street.
