Monday’s Racing Tip: Baltic Knight to bounce back to form at Windsor

Lewis Jones, like many others, likes nothing more than putting his cash down on Richard Hannon trained horses ridden by Richard Hughes at Windsor and he thinks he’s found some value in the feature race this evening…..
It was a disappointing result yesterday for Cheltenham Talk followers as something was clearly amiss with the selection Stars So Bright in the 1000 Guineas trial at Leopardstown.
The money came for the John Oxx-trained horse (100/30 into 5/2) but she was being pushed along a fair way out and was eased down in the closing stages. It was four points down the toilet but that’s racing and I’m sure she’s a filly to follow when Oxx has got to the bottom of her problems.
Moving on, and my focus is on the racing this evening from Windsor, where Monday night racing has become very popular at the Berkshire track and the level of racing is also spiking too.
There are six races to delve into from Windsor but the clear standout is the unibet.co.uk Royal Windsor Stakes at 7:20. Three of the horses from the Listed Paradise Stakes at Ascot meet again and it’s the horse that finished the furthest back of the three that is the bet to concentrate on today.
Baltic Knight was all but pulled up that day at Ascot after being fancied by this tipping column but the market never spoke in his favour and paddock reports suggested that he was so in need of the run. Once out of contention, jockey Richard Hughes gave him a very easy time of things as today’s race was surely in the mind of his connections.
There’s races to be won with this horse, who is in the capable hands of Richard Hannon Jnr. The stable are masters at improving a miler from three-to-four and Baltic Knight showed enough last season to think that he’s one to take seriously as a four-year-old.
Perhaps his best effort was when winning a Listed race at York and a return to that form would see him go very close at a track which should suit.
Paradise Stakes winner Ocean Tempest is one of the most improved horses around but his 4lb penalty tips the scales in Baltic Knight’s favour at the prices while Fencing just hasn’t got the heart to win races these days. Get on the 7/1 for Baltic Knight with three points win stakes.
