Kempton Day One Tip: The New One can be the only one at Kempton

cheltenhamfreebetsWakey. Wakey. Rise and shine. It’s time to dust down those Christmas, turkey based, hangovers and get fully pumped up for the most exciting day of sport in the entire year.

A full English fixture list with the backdrop of some stunning racing from around the UK. Kempton’s King George meeting plays the centre piece on a feast of punting action.

We’ll move onto the King George VI Chase in a moment, which looks a belting but tricky race, but let’s get our best bet out of the way first.

big guns our out for this one as we’re advising maximum stakes on The New One in the Christmas Hurdle at 2:35.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ superstar faces his biggest challenge of the season up against the very classy My Tent Or Yours, but there is every reason to believe last year’s Neptune Investments Novice winner has the Nicky Henderson trained horse’s measure.

We’ve always been a huge fan of the selection ever since he blitzed that strong field at Cheltenham and his electric turn of foot and ability to see his races out to the line, make him a 5pt win selection against My Tent Or Yours, who won the Fighting Fifth last time out but won’t appreciate a battle.

Lump on the 11/10.

The King George VI Chase looks a far more complicated puzzle to work out.

Cue Card, Al Ferof and Silviniaco Conti all have major claims at the head of the market and it’s too hard to split them.

The only one we can rule out is Dynaste, whose price of 100/30 is ridiculous as he doesn’t stay three miles at the top level. Place lay the David Pipe runner but no official tip is recommended.

A far saucier punt lies in the chances of 14/1 shot Roger Beantown, who runs in the William Hill – Download The App Novices´ Limited Handicap Chase at 1:25.

He looks massively overpriced as an each way bet considering that he brings some strong recent handicap form to the table whilst the market leaders are very inexperienced over fences.

Zoe Davidson’s charge finished a very good second (pulled 15l clear of third) behind a very progressive horse in The Italian Yob.

As long as the going doesn’t turn too heavy, he’ll be bang there.

Get on with a two point each way stake.
