Joe Tizzard: “This is the right place for the Haldon Gold Cup winner”

Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard previews the stable’s Sunday runners at Huntingdon

Haldon Gold Cup winner Eldorado Allen looks to follow up his Exeter victory in Sunday’s Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon.

Team Tizzard Sunday runners

Huntingdon 12.17 – The Changing Man

The Changing Man is a really well bred horse, whose looks match his breeding, he’s a beautiful looking horse.

He needed the experience of the bumper run at Newton Abbot first time up, and he’s schooled well ahead of this hurdles debut. I’m sure he’ll learn plenty more here, and he’s a horse we like for the future.

Huntingdon 12.47 – Oscar Elite

Oscar Elite was travelling really well when falling at Cheltenham last time, he was just unlucky that day and the most important thing was that he’s shown no ill effects from that fall when schooling at home since.

This is a small field but a nice looking one, but we’ve always felt this horse would be a better chaser than he was hurdler, and a nice clear round here should see him finish not too far away.

Huntingdon 1.52 – Eldorado Allen

Sometimes this Peterborough Chase can cut up a little bit, but that’s not the case this time, it looks a really competitive race.

Two and a half miles around here should suit Eldorado Allen, there looks to be plenty of pace in the race so he should be able to sit in behind them and travel into the race.

On official figures he’s got a bit to find with some of these, but we feel it’s the right race for him off the back of that excellent Haldon Gold Cup win, he ran well all last season so deserved that Exeter win.

He’s in lovely form at home, and in winning form on the track, so he deserves his place here.

Huntingdon 3.27 – Aki Bomaye

He ran really nicely at Worcester first time out, jumping well that day and keeping on galloping all the way.  He’s a big strong horse so can carry this weight, Huntingdon should suit him and I’d be hopeful of a big run from him.
