Day Two Ascot Tips

Day Two of Royal Ascot and the rain won’t dampen our spirits as we go in search of winners.
It’s been the wettest Royal meeting for 40 years and never has the ground had such a factor on results.
You need horses that are stamina laden, who will also go through heavy conditions.
Shin Hikari Offer : Now 5/1 (Currently 4/6):
CASTLE HARBOUR should get the day off to a decent start in the Jersey Stakes at 2:30. John Gosden has taken his time with this improving sort and he was ridiculously impressive at York, winning easily in a strong race off a mark off 85.
He’s a group performer and can show that at 5/1 in what looks a below-par renewal of this seven furlong dash.
Short price backers will be licking their lips at the prospect of backing two international raiders in a double.
Lady Auerilia has been the talking horse from the Wesley Ward yard and she should bolt up in the Queen Mary at 3:05.
She’ll be getting doubled up with Prince of Wales’s Stakes favourite A Shin Hikari, who it seems the whole of Japan will be backing.
The double isn’t really a bet for me, but if that’s your bag, fire away. Should pay around 4/1.
A better bet in my view at 16/1 is MITCHUM SWAGGER in the Royal Hunt Cup at 5:00. This is one of my highlights of the meeting – a 30-runner field mile handicap.
A great sight and one where the selection should have the turn of foot in the ground to make a name for himself.
Another horse that will relish the ground is Mick Channon’s CZABO, who looks overpriced in the Sandringham Handicap at 5:35.
We haven’t seen the best of this filly yet but everything looks in her favour for a big run on her perfect ground conditions.
