Daily Racing Multiple: Two at Dundalk can outrun big odds for each-way double

Alan is going with two decent prices at Dundalk on Friday evening for an each-way double at 139/1…

“Her form needs improving on, but this isn’t a deep race, and she ran well over 1m last time at Dundalk to suggest she’s worth a go at today’s distance.”

Praise to show his form at a big price for Ado

My plan with backing an Ado McGuinness runner earlier in the week failed to come to fruition as Skontonovski didn’t fire at all, but the thinking is still there as I generally love to avoid the favourites at Dundalk. So I am not deterred in going in again at 12s on Form Of Praise for the 16:15.

This will be her debut in Ireland having spent her juvenile career with Richard Fahey.

The daughter of Mehmas ran mostly in novice races, but she did win over Hamilton’s stiff 6f at the end of the season with a strong-staying success having come from behind. She looked in trouble and traded at 46.045/1 in-play, but she got every inch of the steep hill to gain his first success. She disappointed on his subsequent start but was solid enough without being spectacular.

This is low-grade stuff and off top weight with a claiming jockey makes her of small interest from 71, especially with the way she races, as she usually gets going late.

Her sire has a 16% win record on the Polytrack and a decent 41% placed. At 12/1, I am hoping she can at worst sneak a place in the top three.

Let’s pray for a Mantis win

The second selection for the each-way double runs in the wide-open 1m3f handicap at 17:15, and Praying Mantis is certainly worth a go over this longer trip and is a decent price at 9/1.

She won at Listowel over 1m in the summer with a tidy performance showing a good change of acceleration. It may have been only 0-65 level, but she looked ahead of her rating at that stage, and that was her second turf win of the season with success at Gowran Park in May.

Her form needs improving on, but this isn’t a deep race, and she ran well over 1m last time at Dundalk to suggest she’s worth a go at today’s distance. The 5yo was drawn wide and was outpaced, and she’s actually been lowered 1lb for that.

Her wide draw I don’t see as a problem these days at the track as jockeys are shunning the inside.
